Where Family and Faith Come Together
Welcome to the new Family Ministry Page!
I know what your thinking.... what’s Family Ministry? Well, it’s simple: Family Ministry is a ministry that focuses on the entire family and not just the kids. So many churches today make it their goal to teach kids how to be godly... that’s great; but not enough. You see, our goal here at Forest Lake Christian Church is to not only make godly children, but to make godly families. Imagine the world today if entire families were on fire for God, spreading the gospel to those around their neighborhoods! What we are doing here is training and equipping families to be what God has truly called them to be... unified and focused on Jesus Christ. I hope that you join us on Sundays as we learn from God...together...as a family. May God bless your family today.
Peace, Love, and Soul,
Larry D Vinson
Senior Minister

Family Ministry at a Glance:
Sundays - 9:15 AM - 10:00 AM
Family Connections - Family Connections is a time of learning for the entire family. Parents/Guardians and children will come together to learn a great Biblical lesson while learning practical tips on how to do a family devotional at their own home during the week. Join our Senior minister and his family ever Sunday for this unique Bible study! Click Here to get this week’s family devotional!
Sundays -10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Jr. Worship Service (Grades K - 3rd) - Every Sunday, in order to provide a focused time of learning for both adults and children, we will provide our Junior Worship service as an option for any family. This service’s purpose is to bring Biblical stories and values to all who attend.
Family Sunday - Every 10th week, instead of Junior Worship, we will encourage our families to keep their children upstairs for a special time of worship. These services encourage both children and parents to realize the importance of worshipping together.
During the Week
Family Devotionals - We know it’s busy raising a family and because of that we do not ask any family to overextend themselves by coming to another church Bible Study. Instead we will provide worksheets during the week (both in Sunday School and in Junior Worship) for parents to take home that will reinforce the lessons learned that morning. The goal of these worksheets is to help families come together once a week, in their own homes, for a time of study. By doing this, we are helping parents accomplish what God has called them to be: Spiritual leaders of their families.
What about Jr./Sr. High Students?
In the past, our teenage students (6th - 12th Grade) have been coming together on Tuesday nights to learn about how God applies to their own personal lives. This ministry has been extremely successful as we have seen dozens of students accept Christ over the years. As a result, we will not be canceling this ministry. We here at FLCC believe that the teenage years are so versatile that to take away this time would do more damage than good. Yet, as things often do, this ministry must also change.
Starting this summer, 20:7 (Twenty-7) Student Ministries is changing their focus. No longer will this ministry be just about teenagers, but about all young adults. Currently our 6th graders are learning a lot from our Senior High Students, but our Senior High Students have no students leading them. In response to that, we are welcoming college-age students to our Tuesday Night Worship Services.
Did you know that college-age students are the most unreached population of our country? That is one reason why 20:7 Student Ministries is opening our doors to these young adults, so they too can become saved and make an impact to other people their age.
If you are a young adult and would like to check out our Tuesday Night Worship Service please come to the church every Tuesday @ 7pm. We can’t wait to see you then!
